The Challenge:

Maximum Adventure’s existing site posed several problems, to both users and the internal team. For customers, the navigation was poor, meaning finding the right tour for them was difficult. And for the team, the tour management platform in place was extremely restrictive.

What We Delivered:

After identifying issues with the previous website, we saw an opportunity to improve user experience. Here is what we delivered for them:

-Website Design

-Website Development

-Integrated Booking System

-Logo Redraw

How did we do it?

Improving user experience:

We added icons that gave a clear summary of the length, difficulty, and activity type of each trip on the results page. We implemented a new burger menu that separates each customer group into sections because navigation was poor, as well as filtering systems to narrow down their searches.

Custom Booking System:

Many issues surrounded the third-party booking system, including a lot of manual work to extract data from the third-party system and into their own records. We removed third-party applications and all bookings are now are direct through the WooCommerce platform. This required extensive customisation to give the functionality and flexibility desired to deliver the perfect booking experience.

Personalising Website Experience:

With personalisation being an increasingly popular trend in eCommerce, we felt it was important for users to have a personalised experience when booking their highly customisable holiday packages. To do this, we introduced new signposting and landing pages specific for each defined consumer type. This enhanced search performance, improved relevancy of content, and streamlined consumer booking journeys.

Improved CMS:

The previous content management system was limiting Maximum Adventure’s ability to showcase the fantastic tours that they have to offer. By replacing this, Maximum Adventure now has access to a far less restrictive CMS, that gives them the flexibility to add and amend content without the need for development support.

Results:

The project’s success has not gone unnoticed, picking up three awards in 2021:

  • -Travel Website of the Year – UK Dev Awards
  • -Travel Website of the Year – UK Digital Growth Awards
  • -Global Travel and Tourism eCommerce Website of the Year – Global eCommerce Awards
