Way more than the average mobility retailer, CareCo is the UK's leading name in the industry. They also have over 30 stores across the nation. Mobility scooters, riser recliners, powerchairs, living aids - that's their thing and then some. And as a HUB client for the last six years, we've come to learn that they do this pretty well.
Always aware of what’s happening in their market, CareCo couldn’t help but notice a stigma that surrounds their products – particularly in the 30-60 age group. Enough was enough.
They were releasing five new ground-breaking products to shake up the mobility market, and needed cutting edge creative that would turn the heads of their target audience.
The brief? Five videos to be used in-store and across social media. Each one needed to accurately represent how the product feels, handles and manoeuvres in real life. Above all, they needed to excite viewers in the 30-60 age group.
Targeting a new audience and doing something different to competitors isn’t for the fainthearted. And ‘fainthearted’ certainly isn’t a word we’d use to describe CareCo.
Attention spans are getting shorter. Everyone is living busy lives. We needed to put these new mobility scooters centre stage.
For HUB’s graphic designers, CGI experts, creative copywriters and sharp video editors, it was time to get to work.
To get results you’ve never seen before, you need to do something you’ve never done.
Creating five dynamic CGI videos, all aimed at Gen X and Millennials, we were about to create something the industry hadn’t seen before. In just three months we brought this project to life by:
- Drawing inspiration from comparable premium brands such as car manufacturers and sportswear.
- Using 3D scanning to capture multiple products.
- Rendering artistic shots that highlight each individual USP.
- Incorporating seamless motion graphics into the final production.
- Overlaying sleek and intriguing copy in a unique typeface.
- Adding techno soundtracks to increase energy and intrigue, taking inspiration from the likes of Nike and Adidas.
Mixing moody yet colourful lighting and slow close-ups contrasted against panned-out product shots, the final videos are punchy and full of theatre.
CareCo couldn’t believe their eyes, and immediately tasked us with two more videos for their newest products.
With more elaborate sets and complex animations, these new assets are a step above – positioning CareCo’s products perfectly in the mind of consumers.
A 36% increase in social media engagements and a not-too-shabby increase in sales means we not only hit the brief perfectly, but that the quality of our CGI assets actually resonated with the intended audience.
